One day at Yugi's school, there a new student.. He looked a bit like he came from a rich family with the suit he wore. He also had dark blonde hair that was finely brushed back, as well as square-frame glasses. Introducing himself, Yugi decided on taking him home to hangout. Along the way, Joey and Tristan followed.
Tristan: "So, what's your name?"
The boy stayed silent for a moment, then spoke.
Boy: "My name is … Vailo. Vailo Hawkins."
Joey: "Where're ya from? You look like you've come out of a private school of somethin'."
Vailo: "Ah.. you could say I came a long way to get here. But that's not important, where are we off to?"
Yugi: "My house. It's also my grandfather's game shop, so we can can some Duel Monster cards."
Vailo: "Duel Monsters… Is that a game?"
Joey: "You mean you never heard of it?"
Vailo: "Well… Where I'm from, we don't have much time for games."
Tristan: "Not a problem. When we get there, Yugi's grandpa can teach you how to play."
Vailo: *gives a light smile* "That would be most enjoyable.."
As they arrived, Yugi's grandfather*, was doing some work around the shop, organizing and such. Tea was also there, helping him.
*[Yugi's grandfather will be referred to by his real name, Trusdale.]
Trusdale: "Welcome everyone!"
Yugi: "Hi grandpa," *he introduced Vailo* "This is a new student at the school."
Trusdale: "Ah, hello."
Vailo: "The name's Vailo.."
Tea: *walks over to them, "Nice to meet you! I am Tea Gardner, a friend of Yugi's."
Yugi: "Vailo is interested in learning how to play Duel Monsters, grandpa. Can you teach him?"
Trusdale: "Oh, I'm very sorry, but I have some work to do. Perhaps you and your friends could teach him the basics?" *he smiled* "Since he's new here, I'll allow him a free deck. Enjoy." *walks to the back of the shop*
On the counter were three cases, each had a deck of cards. A black case, red case and green case.
Tea: "Go ahead and choose."
Vailo: "Alright…" *he reached for the red case, but soon chose the black one instead* "Here we are. Black it is."
Vailo opened the case and searched through the cards, reading their descriptions carefully.
Yugi: "Once you're ready to Duel, I'll teach you the rules as we play."
Vailo: "Then let us begin!" He said with a cheerful grin.
Both sat down at a table in Yugi's room with the others watching around the room.
Yugi: "We both have 8000 Life Points*. Whoever loses all Life Points will lose."
*[Life Points will be referred to as LP further on]
Vailo nodded and waited for the game to begin.

Vailo suggests Yugi started the Duel.
Yugi: "Draw five cards from your deck."
Both drew their cards.
Yugi: "Then since it's now my turn, I draw one more card."
He draws one card from his deck as he began.
Yugi: "I put one monster face-down on the field.. And end my turn. Your go."
Vailo drew a card.
He summoned Armored Lizard to the field in attack mode.

Vailo uses Harpie Lady to attack Yugi's LP directly.

Vailo: "Aww… I lost."
Yugi: *smiles* "That was a great Duel for a beginner, Vailo! You had me beat for a sec."
Vailo: "Really?"
Yugi: "Yep!"
Joey: "Uh huh."
Tristan: "You bet."
Tea: "Nice going, Vailo."
Vailo: *smiles a little more* "Thanks everyone." *he then looks up at the clock in the room* "Oh dear! It's getting rather late, I must be going." *picking up his deck, he runs out* "Thank you!"
Yugi: "He's a nice guy, dontcha think?"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Later as Vailo was running home, he stopped at an alley, seeing a card face-down on the ground. He looked around making sure no one was there as he entered the alley to look at it…
Vailo picked up the card in the dark alley. As he turned it over, he saw it was a duel monsters card of what appeared to be a mage in blue, sitting with his arms crossed. The title reads Maha Vailo.

Vailo gave a small gasp at the name, seeing it was his. Looking around the alley, he walked deeper into it to see if there was anyone there. He then came to a dead end, but before he could turn back, the card in his hand started to glow white. He jumped back to the wall beside him and dropped the card in front of him, as a hologram-like image of the mage appeared hovering over it. The Maha Vailo mage opened his eyes, giving a smirk as his red eyes let off a dark glare…
Vailo: *gulped and just stared at the mage* "Wh…who are…."
Maha Vailo: "I seek the help of someone such as yourself…"
Vailo: "W.. What could I possibly do…?"
Maha Vailo: *removes some sort of necklace from his neck without removing his hood, then holds it in his hand, the end of the necklace being the shape of some sort of puzzle-styled egg* "This is a necklace made of pure gold… If I were to give it to you, you would be blessed with powers beyond your wildest dreams. Could I trust you not to sell it?"
Vailo: "I… Why are you coming to me?"
Maha Vailo: "Because… We share the same heritage, believe it or not. You and I have a connection. You see me as some fictional creature of a card game, but… I am a descendant of yours who, despite death, have used this golden necklace to live on in spirit form. If I could pass it on to someone that comes from my bloodline, I could be brought back in human form, and continue living my life… Could you do this for me? Be the one who brings life to old family?"
Vailo: "How do I know it's true? How do I know you aren't lying?"
Maha Vailo: "Very well…"
The mage removes his hood, revealing himself to look much like Vailo, except older.
Maha Vailo: "Is this proof enough for you? Either you help me, or I'll be unable to escape this cruel nonexistence and live forever as a wandering spirit… It is such a lonely life…"
Vailo: *sighs* "I see… I'll do it, then. I'll keep the necklace."
Maha Vailo: *grins almost evilly* "Excellent. In order for it to take effect, you must wear it for a full 24 hours, then you will see me again…"
Vailo: "Right… I'll do that, then."
Maha Vailo: "Oh, also… Perhaps you should keep this card. It may help you during the card games. The Maha Vailo is a weak attacker at first glance, but with proper Equipment, he will be a formidable opponent."
Vailo: "Thank you…"
Maha Vailo: "You'd better hurry home, now. Good luck!"
The mage then appears in a quick smog, leaving the card behind in its original form, along with the necklace beside it. Vailo then wore it around his neck, put the card in his deck, then went home.
